About us

At Bespoke Stones by J Jones, we believe every life is unique – so every memorial should be unique too.

For more than 25 years, our family team has been helping people to celebrate and commemorate the legacies of their loved ones with beautiful, bespoke memorial stones and grave decorations.

We understand the pain that comes with burying a close friend or relative. That’s why we listen to each and every customer’s wishes with empathy and patience, and strive to honour those wishes with a truly personalised memorial masonry service – no matter how big or small the request.

We also avoid the excessive markup costs that typical funeral directors include for their headstones; reducing the additional stress of funeral costs during an already traumatic time.

We offer a wide range of standard designs and styles with engraving and personalisation options which can be viewed on our Headstone & Memorials page.

Our services also extend to Memorial Maintenance & Restoration in the form of aftercare, maintenance visits & memorial cleaning kits.

We’re local to Hollybrook Cemetery and St Mary’s Extra Cemetery in Southampton as well as Eastleigh Cemetery; but we also supply and maintain memorials at graveyards across Southampton, Eastleigh, Portsmouth, Hampshire and the New Forest.

About James Jones

Hi, I’m James Jones – leader at Bespoke Stones by J Jones.

I took over the family memorial masonry business from my father in 2008; but I’ve been in the business of sculpting headstones from a very early age.

I carved my first stone rose whilst other boys my age were riding bikes. While they were building dens, I was watching my father building burial vaults.

Over the years, I’ve realised how life and memory is unique; and how important it is for families to remember their loved ones in their own special way. With more than two decades in memorial masonry, I want to use the skills, experience and creativity I’ve developed to help you achieve a memorable and lasting testament to your own special person.

Below are two pictures of two of my carvings  – the first when  I was only six years old, the second stone carving was done when I was 8 1/2.
